Nigeria: BUA Group has ordered a 3Mt/yr production line from Chinas CBMI for its Kalambaina cement plant in Sokoto State. It follows the commissioning of a /yr line at the site in mid2018, according to the This Day newspaper. The company also completed a new line at its Obu plant at Okpella in Edo State in late 2018.

Ogra said that the new plant came less than six months after the inauguration of the companys million MTPA Kalambaina Cement Plant in Sokoto State. He said that the new addition would bring the total capacity of BUA Obu Cement operations to six million tonnes and move the entire groups installed capacity to eight million MTPA.
In addition to the Obu Cement plant, BUA Group''s other investment in the cement industry include the Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc and Edo Cement Company Ltd. The official commissioning ceremony for the new Obu Cement Plant is planned for 3Q15. Published under Cement News.
